On March 4th 2pm-4pm, Saki and Isabel came!!

Saki first came on January 27th, and this was her second time. The first time, she seemed unsure at first about how to interpret my choreography method, but as the session went on, her hesitation faded. She gradually began to express herself more freely, showcasing a dance that fully embraced her sensibility and imagination. The second time, perhaps thanks to her previous experience, she delivered a strong performance from the start. She skillfully played with the quality of movement, drawing our focus. She later said, "I realized that it was okay to just go for it." I’m happy to have created a space where she feels that way, but what makes me even happier is seeing her actually doing it—boldly and delicately.

Isabelle studied ballet and other forms of dance from a young age and later trained in contemporary dance at university. However, I have some frustrations with her dancing. As expected from someone with her experience, she knows how to relax her body beautifully. Her posture is effortlessly cool, her range of motion is wide, and even the simplest arm movements are free of unnecessary tension. With such fluid control, I expected to see a dance that truly showcased her potential—but that moment never came. Her delicate movements are, as expected, impressive—they almost steal your breath away. But beyond that, I was hoping to see a performance that fully utilized her abilities. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen this time. It was disappointing—I really wanted to see it. I sincerely hope I’ll have the chance to witness it someday.
