Since she was very open-minded, the workshop took place in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
She is a musical theater actor. She said that about a year ago, she had a child, which significantly reduced her daily training. However, her core remained strong, and even when off-balance, her body did not waver.
What I found particularly interesting was her focus of concentration (where she directed her internal vector). Dancers tend to focus their vector on appearance, movement, or form. However, she said that she directs her vector toward the story. (Since my choreography method involves using text. she concentrated on the story within that text.)
When one directs their vector toward the body, it can often lead to physical restrictions. On the other hand, when the focus is placed except the body, awareness of the body fades in a good way, allowing for greater freedom of movement. Her body was free, making it fascinating to watch.
The idea that the focus of concentration changes depending on the type of performing art was very interesting and insightful.
